Covid-19 FAQ’s

 

 

We’ve re-opened and are baking in many of our neighbourhoods for takeaway, eat in, Click & Collect and home delivery. We are happy to be open and baking once again, please bear with us while we work to serve you as quickly as we can.

Are you using track and trace?

If you visit us in any of our bakeries we are required by law to ask you to register your personal details with Test and Trace. Your data will only be accessed by authorised GAIL’s personnel and will not be used for any purpose other than the NHS Test and Trace scheme unless explicit consent is given by you.

How are we keeping our teams and customers safe?

We’ve changed the way we work and completed risk assessments to ensure both our teams and customers are kept safe. We’re washing our hands and contact surfaces more frequently and checking daily that our teams, and their families, are fit and well.

 

What’s changed in my bakery?

We have introduced NHS Test & Trace in accordance with new government regulation. When you visit us please check in by scanning the QR code provided.

We’re inviting only a few customers into our bakeries at a time. Group sizes are limited to 6 unless within your social bubble or household. We’re cashless, and we ask that you respect social distancing and if you feel unwell that you please pop back in when you feel well again; please follow the floor markings to ensure social distancing while visiting us. We’ve sign-posted waiting areas outside of our bakeries for takeaway; if you’re collecting a Click & Collect order please let us know.

 

Why are your teams not wearing face masks?

We’re listening closely to our own and external food safety experts, specifically the World Health Organisation, the UK government and NHS guidelines. From these experts, we understand that face masks are not the best way of managing risk for our teams; The government guidance for cafes (released on 23rd July) advises that employees are not required to wear them, but can if they choose. We are meeting with the EHO weekly for best practice and legal guidelines, and they are happy that the measures we’re taking to keep us all safe are of the highest standards, which include social distancing and cleaning surfaces and hands regularly.

 

Should I wear a face covering at GAIL’s?

We kindly ask that, unless exempt, our customers wear a face covering while queuing or popping in for a takeaway. If you’re eating in, then face coverings may be removed.

 

Can I order online for Click & Collect or home delivery?

We are baking for both Click & Collect and home delivery. Please place your order online, give us 48 hours to bake and we’ll deliver to your door or have your order bagged and waiting for you. Please visit our online menu here.
